The State Secretary for Natural Resources Alfredo Pires, said Prime
Minister Xanana Gusmao guarantees 100% that the LNG pipeline will be
brought to the country, because it is the wealth of Timor-Leste.
Pires said PM Gusmao trusts in the State Secretariat for Natural
Resources and the National Authority for Petroleum (ANP) to make
efforts to negotiate the LNG pipeline as it is the only way to do so.
"Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao said there is only one way to bring the
pipeline to the country. We have presented our position that the LNG
pipeline should be brought to the country, because we will benefit
from the pipeline," Pires said. Pires added that Timor-Leste has the
absolute right to bring the LNG pipeline to the country, because the
oil and gas fields belongs to Timor-Leste, adding that the results of
the feasibility study show that it is possible to create an LNG plant
to the country.
